Ted Alben is a Partner, Co-Founder, and Consulting CTO at GetSmart Cyber Defense, a global consultancy specializing in cybersecurity, physical security, solution development, and IoT engineering. With over 25 years of experience, he also serves as a fractional CIO/CISO for client organizations. Ted has played a key role in enhancing security and resilience for critical infrastructure, including ports, airports, intermodal transportation, and sectors spanning public interests, intelligence, and defense. His cybersecurity expertise covers threat modeling, risk assessment, and the strategic implementation of security controls, with a current focus on addressing threat vectors and risks associated with artificial intelligence. He also leads Relevant-IT Inc., a US nationwide systems integration company focused on public safety and security. Ted is an active member of the UCLA Alumni community, serving as a mentor and guest lecturer at UCLA Law School.
